XCode starts with a cpu-intensive 'processing files' task.. normal?

This is a minor annoyance but if it’s to be helped that would be great: I’m using Xcode 5 and oF 0.8.1 (for if that matters) and when I start Xcode for the first time on a given day, it will first perform a rather CPU-intensive task while showing ‘processing files’ in the status area above-center. This will take about a minute of ~150% cpu load. I’m curious about what’s really happening here, and if it can be prevented.

Don’t worry- that’s totally normal- it’s just indexing all the files the project is referencing. I think it’s for things like auto-completion, error-checking, etc. It should take care of most of it in the background while you work.

Hope this helps!

I thought as much. It’s not that big of a deal. Thanks for the explanation
