[Win 10 installation] Make = Package sndfile not found

Hello,

Following this link for windows 10 installation w/ msys2 :
https://openframeworks.cc/setup/msys2/

I’m stuck at the make step that returns : Package sndfile not found in the pkg-config search path

QUESTION : where is the directory containing sndfile.pc and how to add it to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH.

Noob here trying to get started with OF, please help.
Thx

Hi did you follow this step:

cd your_oF_directory/scripts/msys2
./install_dependencies.sh

In that script it installs libsndfile.
See:

Hopefully that helps!

Thank you for reply
Yes of course I did with attention.
But let it go, I switch this to Linux mint right now.
Thx.

Hello,

You may check that libsndfile is correctly installed by using pacman -Ss sndfile

And should get something like :

$ pacman -Ss sndfile
mingw32/mingw-w64-i686-libsndfile 1.0.28-1 [installé]
A C library for reading and writing files containing sampled sound (mingw-w64)
mingw64/mingw-w64-x86_64-libsndfile 1.0.28-1 [installé]
A C library for reading and writing files containing sampled sound (mingw-w64)

You want to make sure you have the correct version depending on the version of msys2 you are using running (1st line for MINGW32, 2nd one for MINGW64).
If you have the package installed, please check you are running the MINGW shell echo $MSYSTEM should return MINGW32 or MINGW64.
