sorry for the stupid question, but is it possible with openframework to build a tool to be able to recognize a tomatoes and unterstand how far is from the camera?
the goal is to build a machine that’s able to harvest tomatoes.
You may be able to detect tomato using simple color tracking.
To estimate the distance you can try to establish tomato position from images taken from different
angles or positions (rotating camera or 2 cameras). I think you have to take care about occlusion by leaves.
