upgrading oF -> glew/glee errors

Ill start off by saying im super new to oF and any type of C++ coding.

I started a few weeks back by DOWNLOADING the oF zip file from the github page. I wrote a few apps and everything was working great. I couldn’t get ofxOpenNI running so I thought I would clone the latest version of oF into a new directory. The clone went great. I copied my apps and addons into the new appropriate directories. I thought I was cruising… until I tried to build my old apps. Im getting a ton of errors on build but it seems they all have to do with not finding glew.h.

Ive attached an image.

I trolled the forums trying to sort it out and read that ofContants.h can be hacked but didnt really work for me. Any help would be appreciated.

Also - a total newbie question, how do I know which version of oF im running?

there’s been some changes to the projects in the new version, like we’ve changed glee with glew. the easiest way of using old apps with the new version of OF is to copy one of the examples in the new version and add your files to it.

Great thanks Arturo… makes perfect sense. Not sure why I didn’t think of that :wink:

I am converting my old simple apps… one simple one I had brought in a couple png files. They now get drawn very strangely. The transparent parts appear solid… any ideas what that may be?

Also, where do read about new releases, versions and whats changed in oF?

mmh do you have ofEnableAlphaBlending() in your code? we wanted to enable this by default but cannot remember if we finally did it for 0062. perhaps it was disabled again by accident in the new version

I am having similar problems with “glee” in a fresh install (lastest github trunk), and even can’t compile de default oF examples…

Erros in the kind of: no such file or directory…

Is there any way to solve this?

p.s. Using Codeblocks 10.05, in win7 x64 and i had no problems with the previous version examples…
p.s.2 I am so noob in oF and c++, so treat me as a kid.

yeah sorry, the windows version hasn’t been updated yet, the library is compiling properly and all the necessary libraries are already there but the examples hasn’t been updated yet.

I wrote a little tutorial how to fix the errors with the wrong SDK, GL/glew.h and tesselator.h when working with the new Project Templates for XCode: http://bit.ly/ofProject

Rick, I think you’re link is broken :wink:

Just found the link…
