Trouble compiling in eclipse

it comes down to

arm-linux-androideabi/bin/as’: execv: Exec format error

The instructions for setting up the project in eclipse are terrible, it doesn’t even mention that adt is a plugin for eclipse. I downloaded 64 bit eclipse, I have the ndk and sdk paths set up properly. I assume this error is to do with running the 64 bit eclipse and this as executable is 32 bit.

Has anyone else run into this error? What can I do to solve it? thanks.

mac osx 10.8.5
of_v0.8.4_android_release
64 bit eclipse luna
android-ndk-r9b

paths.make and config.android.default.mk edited accordingly

It turns out I needed to set up a sym link

sudo ln -s /Developer/android-ndk-r9b-darwin-x86_64/android-ndk-r9b/toolchains/arm-linux-androideabi-4.8/prebuilt/darwin-x86_64/bin/arm-linux-androideabi-as /Developer/android-ndk-r9b-darwin-x86_64/android-ndk-r9b/toolchains/arm-linux-androideabi-4.8/prebuilt/darwin-x86_64/arm-linux-androideabi/bin/as

fixed it. now I’m getting a similar error

i686-linux-android/bin/as’: execv: Exec format error

Do I need another symlink? anybody out there?
