Texture Sharing Directx?

Hey,

I am trying to create an application, similar to how Spout works (http://spout.zeal.com) in which I can capture the Unity3D viewport and send the directX handle to an application called touch designer(TD).

To my knowledge TD only needs this handle to retrieve the image/video.

I was looking for some advice on the best way to tackle this problem?
