Startup looking to hire programmer for interactive literary iPad app

My company, www.rocketchairmedia.com, is a startup electronic narrative studio looking for a freelance developer to begin work on an iPad application ASAP. The developer will work directly with the creative director and will be responsible for executing all software and technical requirements of the project’s concept and design. As an programming expert, your input is encouraged and your creativity is required to solve any expected or unexpected technical and design challenges along the way toward innovating the reading experience for tablet platforms. Think of yourself as a vital part of the team, because we certainly do.

Compensation will be a flat fee commensurate with experience. We know how important you are to us and we want to treat you that way – and pay you that way – with the hope of this becoming a fulltime position in the future, should you be interested.

Responsibilities:
• Work with creative director to create an iPad application that matches the design and concept
• Develop, test and maintain the iOS application
• Find and solve any problems or bugs with the application
• Provide estimates for technical efforts

Requirements:
• Expert knowledge of Objective-C
• Understanding of “Dynamic Tiling” (similar effect to Google Maps). Experience with this is preferable.
• High level of expertise with memory management in iOS
• Experience with Cocoa Touch
• Prior experience developing production iOS apps.
• Interest in pushing the iPad/tablet platform to its limit – and maybe a little beyond
• Demonstrated ability to find unexpected, creative solutions to software, hardware, and all other problems
• An interest in storytelling of any kind is absolutely a plus, but not a requirement
• Creative, focused, results-oriented, self-motivated, resourceful problem-solver with strong communications skills

So if you’re interested, talented and full of ideas get in touch with us! Send a resume, some notes about yourself and links to portfolio work when you do, please.
