Slowly blinking stars (recnagles)


I have square rectangles (4x4) that are located on 1280x800 screen. I need them to blink slowly.
There are many of them, so I guess I can’t manipulate them individually and redraw them with
different shades. I wonder if I can create some sort of overlay (like clouds) and create a fusion
between ofFbo object that contains my pixels and this overlay. And then by randomizing overlay
I can reach the desired effect. Or there maybe some other primitives for that ?


You could use a shader with periodic noise, and give a different seed to each square, so they blink at different rates
