i am currently using the ofxOpenNI for skeleton tracking. unfortunately, i have a column in the middle of the room that always reads as a user. does anyone know if it is possible to do a background removal of a scene and then track skeletons?
I don’t think so as I believe Nite is looking directly at the depth sensor output from OpenNI. I’ve seen this happen with a few objects (chairs mostly). From what I have heard is that Nite is really looking for cylinder like shapes to create skeletons and if the object doesn’t move it will discard it.
If the column is behind the user area I would look and see if the DepthGenerator has options to set a distance threshold.
