I’m writing a simple application that should enable users to save and load what they create in the app. The data will be saved in xml format, so I’ll be using ofxXmlSettings for that.
I want to give the user a way to select the destination for the saved file and location for files to load from the file system. Does anybody know of a way to do this? Cross-platform is best, but if anyone knows solutions for a specific OS that would also be helpful.
There’s good examples in MSA stuffs, using GUI, XML and autosave option (which is visually great too…)
Thanks for the reply. I took a look at the examples. I can see that the add-ons have what I need for writing xml, and the interface stuff I saw looks nice.
However, I didn’t see anything that looks like a file browser that would enable users to name and specify a directory to save or load from during run time. Is there anything like this?
I suppose that the best way to do this would be to call system libraries. But perhaps there’s some kind of OF wrapper for this? If anybody has any experience doing this I’d be interested to hear about it.
I just found this, which looks like what I want for windows.
Anybody know how to do this on OS X?
I found this, I think it’s what I need:
