I had some linker problems with rtAudio.lib when compiling with visual studio 2005, and i had to recompile the library. I don’t know if the same problem appears in the free version of visual studio, but if it does, try to replace with this file:
hey thanks cj -
possible for you to post the errors with the library we sent out with OF (there were two I guess, one regualar and one debug). We had some issues too, and I just want to compare notes.
we will test your lib - perhaps it’s working in the free version of VS (which we are on and supporting)
I get a linker error after the code has compiled. It looks like this:
1>fatal error C1047: The object or library file '..\..\libs\rtAudio\\rtAudio.lib' was created with an older compiler than other objects; rebuild old objects and libraries
1>LINK : fatal error LNK1257: code generation failed
hope it helps
Thanks, that worked for me!
dujoducom, what version of VS are you using?
I think it’s helpful for us to know because we’re packaging against VSEE, but can include instructions about other versions / types of VS compilers.
I’m using the express edition and it seemed to work with version 0.03 and 0.04 of openFrameworks (Lucky me to pick the day before the new release to try and learn some things about oF :)).
I should also mention that although it fixed the error regarding rtAudio.lib, I’m still having issues compiling in release mode. They seem to be unrelated, so that is for a new thread if I can’t get it straightened out.
The original problems i had was only with the lib in release mode, but i realize that the debug version of the lib might be useful as well. It seems to work just as fine as the old one for me. Do you experience problems with it?
Here is debug: http://carljohanrosen.com/files/rtAudioD.lib
Here is release: http://carljohanrosen.com/files/rtAudio.lib
I’m not having an issue with the originally packaged debug lib.
