Renderer Issue for Android

When I include the line: “ofSetCurrentRenderer(ofGLProgrammableRenderer::TYPE);”
my shaders and 3D model compile and link properly, but my 3D model does not appear when I run the application. The shaders do appear; however they shade the entire background, rather than my 3D model. If I comment out this line of code, the shaders do not compile properly, but my 3D model appears on the screen properly, however unshaded. Could someone please help me determine what is going wrong?
