My Google skills fail me this Friday afternoon, and I didn’t have much by way of OpenGL skills in the first place, so having scoured Foley & Van Damme in vain…
Is there a standard, robust, generic technique to determine if a point lies within the volume defined by an (animated, deforming) arbitrary mesh?
zach - great stuff! - i’m already using a raycasting approach (though i hadn’t twigged that it would work for complicated geometry), but it felt a bit Heath Robinson somehow: i’m duly reassured!
