openFrameworks/C++ lecturer Goldsmiths, University of London

Hi everybody,

for those interested, we’re looking to hire a lecturer on a competitive hourly rate to teach C++ to 2nd year undergraduates in the Department of Computing @ Goldsmiths, University of London. The module is an introduction to C++ for creatively oriented students who have already spent a year learning javascript. The outline of the curriculum has been set but you will need to design lectures, labs and appropriate assessment. Ideally you would use a combination of simple command line apps and openFrameworks as working environments. Teaching would be from Oct to Dec and from Jan to end of March.

More specifically:

Lecture = 2 hours per week over 20 weeks - 40 hrs
Lab = 2 hours per week over 20 weeks - 40 hrs

Additional pay for preparation time, marking, dept meetings, office hours.

Great working environment with an inspiring bunch of colleagues working in creative computing.

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience in C++/openFrameworks
  • Creative Coding experience or private practice
  • Experience teaching in Higher Education (ideally), but would also consider people who have ran workshops

If this sounds appealing, send your CV to theo [at] gold [dot] ac [dot] uk with the subject line “ofx forum”
