Nested FBOs

Hello, is it possible to have nested FBOs like this?

  
  
fbo2.begin();  
	//draw things here  
fbo2.end();  
  
fbo.begin();  
	for (int a=0; a<6; a++)  
	fbo2.draw(ofGetWidth()-640,0 + a*48);  
fbo.end();  
  

I would like to get some “tile like” effect. I imagine it can be achieved too by manipulating FBO texture dimensions and repeat, but no idea how to achieve that.

Unless I’m not understanding what you want to do, if you just want to tile something, draw into the FBO with a texture drawn multiple times, or if you’re generating something tricky within the fbo, do the tricky stuff between the begin() and end() then just draw it to the render buffer multiple times.

I should mention that you definitely can draw one fbo into another though, a pretty common case for this is doing something with a shader like

  
  
		fbo1.begin();  
		shader1.begin();  
		fbo1.draw(0,0);  
		shader1.end();  
		fbo1.end();  
		  
		fbo2.begin();  
		shader.begin();  
		fbo1.draw(0,0);  
		shader.end();  
		fbo2.end();  
  

for tiling though it’s probably not really necessary.
