i would like to recomended Typora which is a markdown editor and its also great to view markdown content, and theres a Windows tool called QuickLook which is a quick viewing tool similiar to Mac, you just select the .md file then press space then it popup the markdown content.
Visual Code has preview extensions to split both versions, raw and styled.
