List files in directory

Hi,

I’m working on a project, where I want to play hundreds of mp3’s the same time. Which will end in a mass of chaotic sound. Therefor I’m looking for a class to read-out all file-path’s in my iTunes directory and than play with ofxSoundplayer. Hope that will work…

What might be a good tool getting the file information/paths for the mp3’s in the iTunes folder?

Best,

K.

hi K,

you might run into CPU troubles at some point loading too many mp3s.

but, sometimes the best way to do something like this is to pop up a terminal (i assume you’re using OSX) and use the find command. eg:

$ cd Music
$ cd iTunes\ Music
// (note the backslash, not forward slash)
$ find . -iname "*.mp3"
// list of mp3s is spat out here
$ find . -iname "*.mp3" > list_of_mp3s.txt
// list of mp3s is now written to a text file called list_of_mp3s.txt in your 'iTunes Music' folder
