Lab at Rockwell Group Looking for Interaction Designer

Interaction Designer Opportunity

The LAB at Rockwell Group is looking for people who are interested in working on a large variety of projects–from interactive facades to kinetic sculptures to one-night spectacles–and can help conceptualize, prototype, and produce these experiences. A junior interaction designer doesn’t need to be able to produce a final product, but they must be able to sketch/prototype it in someway and convey the experience and intent to a production team.

This is a full-time position.

Must be proficient in
• Adobe Creative Suite ( Illustrator, Photoshop, Flash, After Effects)
• OmniGraffle or other wireframing / flowcharting application
• Keynote / Powerpoint

Skills and Experience Required
• teamwork and communication
• design research
• brainstorming / concepting
• visual storytelling
• wireframing
• ideation and sketching
• prototyping (physical and digital)
• UI design
• some experience with motion graphics (Flash / After Effects)
• interactive prototyping skills using one of the following platforms:
Processing, openFrameworks, HTML5/Javascript/CSS, Flash (as3), Cinder, or Plask

Nice to have (but not required) skills:
• Arduino + basic electonics
• 3D modeling: Cinema 4D / Maya / Rhino / Sketchup etc
• Advanced motion graphics experience
• OpenGL and/or WebGL experience
