**Electronic Design Engineer & Junior Design Engineer Required **

Jason Bruges Studio is currently recruiting for 2 Design Engineer roles:

A: Full time Electronic Design Engineer to join the team based in Old Street, London

B: Junior Design Engineer on an internship programme for 3 months, then potentially full-time

The studio, formed in April 2002, design and build interactive art installations for brands, architects and the art world. The creative environment design and build bespoke art installations that cover the architectural, lighting design, art, brand and experiential marketing sectors. The creative studio environment is very focused on innovation, clever prototyping and tinkering with technology. No 2 days are ever the same.

The senior role includes working closely with the current design team on generating electronic solutions to design briefs and contributing to the creative sessions. The role involves a certain amount of tinkering and experimentation. You’ll be given the responsibility to run with the projects whilst being support by the Production Manager.

The junior role will support the Design Engineer with an amazing opportunity to learn on the job, taking responsibility for projects within a dynamic and creative environment.

Desirable skill requirements, or knowledge of:

Previous experience of start to finish electronic design (prototyping, schematic, board layout, connections, system wiring, safety, test procedures)
GUI programming (preferably C++) and firmware (AVR / PIC)
Serial communications experience (especially RS485 / RS422 / DMX)
Excellent working knowledge of human interface sensors (inertial, capacitive, optical, thermal etc.)
Proven ability to create very fast turnaround prototypes
A flexible and creative approach to working within a team and with clients
A wizard at debugging, handy using a scope and data logging to find and solve problems fast
A dab hand at surface mount rework – wouldn’t think twice about hand soldering TSSOP or 0603

The company has a design studio and workshop in-house, all based in Old Street, London, the hub of the creative and digital industry in Europe.
