Install of on raspberry pi 3

I installed openframeworks on a raspberry pi 3 using this documentation:

http://openframeworks.cc/setup/raspberrypi/raspberry-pi-getting-started/

It all seems to work fine (apart from adding addons…).
I was wondering, when should someone follow this documentation:?

http://openframeworks.cc/setup/raspberrypi/raspberry-pi-getting-started-archlinux/

Like what are the bennefits of it.

the main difference is that archlinux is compiled for armv7 instead of 6 and OF applciations using armv7 will be compiled for that platform too which might be faster in some cases.

also some packages in archlinux have newer versions than in raspbian and they might have some bugfixes. for example the video module in raspbian is pretty outdated and it might crash from time to time while the one in archlinux is up to date.

raspbian is the official distribution recommended by raspberry though so it might be better suppported or easier to install
