Image morphing and transition with fluid-like simulation

Hey everyone,

does anyone know what kind of techniques Ryoichi Kurokawa is using here in order to do the blending and morphing of the images starting from 1’40’’ ?

I would greatly appreciate some input on this, as I have a general idea of what’s going on can’t quite nail it.


i think it is morphing images using optical flow. There was an addon for doing that:

but it is heavily outdated now so if you need it you have to patch it, or find more recent fork ( in my fork i made it work with oF 0.9.8 for a project, but i didn’t updated it for 0.10 )
