grabbing streaming online video content

Hi OF people,

I want to grab streaming video off the web and be able to play it in OF like a regular video file. Looking on the forum, it looks like ofVideoPlayer might be the tool to do this? The streaming video content is from ustream.tv… a website that has a lot of live streaming video content. Not sure what the video format is yet… but looking into it.

I’m just starting on this project so any help would be much appreciated.

Hey EP,

I think Gstreamer is the job for this, although i’ve never used it myself and may be a bit tricky to install on OS X.

Another way might be to use Jeff Crouse’s ofxBerkelium and then make a webpage with your streaming video and then pull that into OF

there are definitely other ways to go about it too if you poke around the forums some more…
