easiest way to get 3d kinect point cloud data as 2d ?

I have a multi-kinect system that is generating a larger image. I can move the point clouds side-side and up-down to get them to line up and am quite happy with the results.

what is the easiest way to actually use the x-y coordinates for these points? There are two sets on the screen, and I was kind of hoping to render the scene to a blank (unseen) grayscale image and then derive some grayscale information from the results to and whatnot.

if you want to render the points to an image and do image processing on the result, then you’ll need to render into an ofFbo and do readPixels() to get the data from the pixels from the graphics card.
