Does anyone have a OF Visual Studio Version of 00573

I was wondering if anyone has an AllTestExample for Visual Studio (2005 or 2008) of the newest 00573 version of openframeworks. I’m just looking to make sure all the settings, includes, libs are right so I can test 00573 in VS.

Thanks!

that is my weekend project. I’ve got a decent 0.05 / 2008 package now and am working on 0.0573 but it’s pretty straightforward. I’ll post back shortly

Great!

No rush, just checking if someone already had one out there.

zach, were you able to ever finish this?

I tried downloading this link a few times, but it’s says it’s invalid or corupt when I try to open it. http://www.openframeworks.cc/files/vs20-…-FAT-v0.zip

I’m not sure why that failed –

this is another zip:

http://www.openframeworks.cc/files/vs20-…-FAT-v1.zip

some points :

a) the addons aren’t the newest code, but the OF code is.
b) I discovered with LTCG on (which is by default) the .obj files in release are quite big with poco. I was experimenting with turing that off, and I’m not sure if it is in this release. we were pretty alarmed at how big the compiled folders were
c) we are still changing stuff around

hope that helps !

Hi Zach, I don’t if I am the only one, but I cannot open the solution app include of of this release with visual express 2005 or 2008.

In 2008 told me that not suport (.vcproj) and 2005 that is made by a new version of it.

best,

Mar

hi mar,

greetings !

is that with 2008 express edition?

did you open the vcproj or the .sln ?

can you post a screenshot?

this will definitely not work on VS 2005, but it should be fine in 2008 (I made it in 2008) and it’s working fine over here for me.

Hi Zach,

One thing, I suggest add “cv100.dll”, “libguide40.dll” and “cxcore100.dll” in “other/dlls” folder for then postbuilding events of VS will add it into the “Bin”, maybe you have installed openCV and it is then included in “system32”.

It is strange how I find, I was using “AllTestExample”, finally I opened with VS 2008 versions and in express 2008 give and error message asking for this dll, but not before with VS 2008 professional that only show me a linking error at the end.

Best,

Mar

Hi Zach,

I add to your version of Poco the addon of SimpleGui and I integrate the example I found in Xcode release at “addonsExamples” folder.

http://www.mcanet.info/files/of-preRele-…-FAT-v3.zip
(I used 2008 express, then it is not possible open in 2005 VS)

I really like SimpleGUI, it is soo good. But still this library need a little clean up. In VS was three error from methods that was no return. I add neutral returns to this methods in order to compiler and started integration. I list this methods that I touch:

From “ofxQuadWarp”:
** bool checkDistanceToPoint() return false
From “ofTodd.cpp”:
** bool ofMouseOn(int mx, int my, float x, float y, float w, float h) return true;
** string ofSecondsToMinutes(float s) return “”

I hope this can be helpful.

thanks for pointing it out !

I’m not sure about this, because it would mean adding opencv dll to ALL projects, even those that don’t use opencv. I think it’s better to put the dlls in by hand. (or maybe, create a second other/dll folder like other/addonDlls …

Yeah, maybe a addon dll folder can be help full. I not sure if it is possible make a more advance post building code that take dll from addons folder (like “addons/ofxOpenCv/dll/”) when people have defined one addon. because dll normally are included somewhere inside addon folder.

hi there!

i tried to compile the SimpleGui example from the 0.0573 oF package you provided and get following error.

fatal error C1900: Il mismatch between ‘P1’ version ‘20080116’ and ‘P2’ version ‘20070207’

i am using this version of vs2008:

Microsoft Visual Studio 2008
Version 9.0.21022.8 RTM
Microsoft .NET Framework
Version 3.5 SP1

Installed Edition: Professional

Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 91605-270-1580437-60046
plus some hotfixes…

Id first try rebuilding all, to see the objects compiled with a different compiler are messing up. however, googling for that error suggests a bad installation

I’m now getting this same error:

“fatal error C1900: Il mismatch between ‘P1’ version ‘20080116’ and ‘P2’ version ‘20070207’”

on VS 2008 in debug mode.

In release, I get:

1>Linking...
1>fatal error C1047: The object or library file '.\obj\Release\main.obj' was created with an older compiler than other objects; rebuild old objects and libraries
1>LINK : fatal error LNK1257: code generation failed

I get this on two machines with the same project, so I don’t think it can be the install. This happens when trying to compile an alltestexample from OF 573 VS 2008.

edit: This seems to be related to osc pack. I updated mine to vs2008 version of oscpack, and things compile in debug, but same error in release mode for some reason. You can test this by trying to compile OSC example in VS2008.
