Depth sort

Hi, I made a simple video cube to play around with OF on IOS, I have a problem that the code that worked well on OSX does not do so well on IOS> The only problem I have is that it does not depth sort properly, I get impossible escher like views of my cube.

I am using an Ipad2 on IOS6.1

the function that worked in my code before was glEnable(GL_DEPTH_TEST),

Is there an alternate equivalent I should use?

ofAppiPhoneWindow * iOSWindow = new ofAppiPhoneWindow();    
iOSWindow->enableDepthBuffer();    
ofSetupOpenGL(iOSWindow, 480, 320, OF_FULLSCREEN);
