Creative Coder to develop an instrument you can play with any part of the body

OpenUp Music is looking for a freelance Creative Software Developer for a year long project to realise an accessible, affordable and expressive software based musical instrument that can be played using any part of the body via infrared tracking markers and off the shelf hardware. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with our Technical Director and Musical Director to finalise the prototype designs we have created over the past two years, realise a robust software architecture and to co-develop an instrument that will revolutionise musical access for young disabled musicians. In short, your skills could make a HUGE difference.

We can offer £220 per day (based on 92 days) to the right candidate.

Responsibilities:

Work with OpenUp Music to refine requirements with stakeholders

Co-design a suitable baseline architecture
Develop a cross platform, accessible musical instrument

Experience developing cross-platform applications (Mac, Windows, iOS, Android)
Experience with all parts of the software development life cycle
Experience with Git or similar version control systems
4+ years of applicable professional experience
