Creative coder sought for playful interaction projects ...

… in public and virtual space

The Pervasive Entertainment Lab Salzburg (PELS) as part of the Center for Advances in Digital Entertainment Technologies (CADET) is a research project of the Multimedia Technology Department at the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences, Austria.

We are seeking for a creative programmer to work on a diverse mix of projects ranging from interactive large-scale projections to mobile game development - which involve a good amount of R&D. The kind of person we are looking for loves to experiment and tinker with technology, to participate in developing new and engaging interaction, game and art concepts and works well in teams.

Experience required:

  • Solid Object oriented programming, ideally C/C++ and/or C#, Java, Objective C

  • Creativity

Experience advantage:

  • Frameworks like Cinder, OpenFrameworks, QT

  • Graphics programming, computer vision & AR (OpenGL, OpenCV)

  • Game Engine Technologies (OGRE3d, Panda3d, Unity3d, etc.)

  • Peripherals Kinect, Sensors, Motors, Electronics, Mechanics


  • Shaping the research project with passion and creativity in a small but eager team

  • Teach a course in the bachelors Multimedia Technology program

  • Giving talks, travel to conferences, enjoying culture and winter sports in Salzburg

Job terms

  • Full-time, either fixed-term (till end of 2013) or for a period of 6-12 months.

  • Language spoken in the Lab is English or German

  • Salary to be determined based on experience
