Camera photo vs camera video on Android

As I saw in the startup log of my app, some phones provides different resolutions for video and photo. Is there a way to “take a photo” within OF? I would definitely prefer to use that rather that just using the image grabbed from the video.

Thanks, F.

not as it is, you could add some methods in the java side of the videoGrabber to take a photo then add some calls in ofxAndroidVideoGrabber to call the java part

Gracias, Arturo.

I’ll give it a try. If I find something stable on this I’ll drop a note.

To watch videos on Android devices, we should keep in mind that the best supported video format for Android is mp4 with H.264 codec. To convert videos to H.264 mp4, Aunsoft Video-Converter is a good choice. It easily converts videos like mov, wmv, MXF, AVCHD/MTS, TiVo, mkv, flv, etc to H.264 mp4 with high quality and video/audio sync for playing on Android devices.
