Build options (for add-ons) clarification

Hello, I read this excellent topic:
http://forum.openframeworks.cc/t/adding-code,-include-paths–addons-in-cb/3090/0
But I still have a few questions…
Why do you add the addon files in the management? I noticed it’s not really necessary.
Let me try to explain:

When I add the files to the project-management, they pop up here in the Project Configuration:

I assumed that was enough to let CodeBlocks (CB) know that they have to search for these files. But it isn’t… You have to add them to the ‘Build Options’:

So then I tried deleting the files that were referenced in the build options from the management-panel, and CB still finds the files. So why is it necessary to add them to the management-panel? Is it considered ‘good practice?’

Oh, and some bonus-questions. :stuck_out_tongue:

  1. What do you guys think is the best (for beginners) editor for OF? CB or VS2008 Express?
  2. And in CB, when you add files to the management-panel, they always come in the standard ‘source’ and ‘header’ folders. Is there a way to get add-on files directly in the correct folders?

Thanks in advance!
