Best way to make new OF project in Code::Blocks

Sorry in advance if this has been asked before,

I’m not really used to Code::Blocks, it looks great but while the OpenFrameworks examples compile nicely any attempt to start a new project hasn’t been successful. What would be the best method to get me started, am I required to copy the examples and keep them within the openframeworks app folder or is there anyway of setting one up in a separate directory?
