3D Transitions Like in Ventuz

Hi,

Have any of you tried to create presentation content like they do with Ventuz with OF?
I would like to create 3D transitions and similar effects with OF. Could you please give me some pointers on where to start on this?

I know how to do animations and transitions in 2D. However, I am not sure how to create components, transitions in 3D. You will see what I am trying to explain after watching the following video.

A showreel on Ventuz.

Many Thanks!

it’s not very different than using 2d: i.e. instead of moving around a 2d image, you’ll have translate/rotate/resize 3d objects (models?, simple primitives?) and probably texture them with images and videos.

If you’re beginning with 3d, give a look at the 3d, models and camera examples that come with your of installation: they should give you an idea of how you could do it.

Thanks!

Also, it seems that ventuz stuff use less CPU and such… they maintain a much higher fps.

Anyway, I will have a look at the examples.

Thanks again.

i suppose it mostly depends on how you draw stuff: i.e. if you use shaders, vbo etc you’re fps will stay higher

I see. Yeah, that could be the reason. I will look more in to those.

Thanks!
